I genuinely can’t say I like this movie; it's one I really have to dislike. What stands out most negatively is how the director presents himself with an air of self-importance, trying to make viewers feel bad for enjoying a horror film. The filmmaker has openly stated his goals for the project, and seemed so pleased with what he’d done that he remade it exactly the same way. Each moment feels intentionally designed to be uncomfortable and dull, because avoiding suspense was apparently part of the intended effect. It comes across as if the writer/director is deliberately insulting those who choose to watch this preachy nonsense.
