The movie came out in 2013, and the incident happened in 2009, but similar events keep appearing on social media every month. There hasn’t been any progress. It is appalling that people can be mistreated by law enforcement within this country without consequences. Real change is needed! For Oscar Grant, for George Floyd, for Breonna Taylor, and for all Americans who have lost their lives due to those meant to protect them… Regarding the film itself, Ryan Coogler approached the subject matter with sensitivity, presenting a portrait of Oscar Grant’s life and highlighting the positive qualities of his family, friends, and character. The movie's rhythm was effective; it enabled viewers to connect deeply with Grant, which makes the final moments even more painful. There is striking cinematography and excellent acting from everyone involved. Michael B Jordan delivers an outstanding performance, portraying a man who appears tough on the outside but possesses gentleness within. His desire to provide for his family is evident not only in what he does but also in his expressions when he's with his daughter. It was remarkable. The emotional moments are powerful and remain with you, allowing the weight of what transpired to sink in. Ultimately, regardless of how well-made this film is, it shouldn’t have been necessary to create it, and that is the real tragedy concerning Fruitvale Station. Score: 81% | Verdict: Great
