Two brothers, "Seth" (George Clooney) and "Richard" (Quentin Tarantino), create chaos as they flee toward Mexico after committing robberies that include a bank, a convenience store, and a motel. Nearing the border, they kidnap a pastor named "Jacob" (Harvey Keitel) along with his family, intending to use them as cover to cross into Mexico unnoticed. Their destination is a bustling brothel called "Titty Twister." After consuming a significant amount of alcohol there, they realize something isn't right—and it’s more than just the stockings. As night falls, the patrons begin to exhibit unsettling behavior; they seem to develop an appetite. What follows is a graphic and violent sequence reminiscent of Hammer films, though sharing a similar level of quality. While Tarantino demonstrates skill directing, his acting performance is lacking. Clooney's portrayal is slightly improved, but Keitel is the one who manages to keep this increasingly absurd film progressing through what feels like an extended period. I considered the humor to be crude and lowbrow, and frankly, I grew weary of the constant violence and repetitive nature of the story once it moved beyond the initial violent events. Was the intention for it to be funny? It’s hard to say—but regardless, I won't be revisiting this film.
