It’s pretty funny timing that this movie appeared right when Amazon announced ads or a price increase. It claims to be a comedy, but I honestly can’t imagine what kind of person would find it amusing—this contrived and poorly planned action "thriller" is just not funny. A reporter named “Claire” (Alison Brie) brings in a security expert called “Mason” (John Cena) to go with her on an assignment to a jungle country where she's supposed to interview the president. Once they get there, they encounter “Venegas” (Juan Pablo Raba), who has his own fancy gun—not quite as obvious as Christopher Lee’s! Almost immediately after arriving, they get tangled up in a takeover attempt by a timid but eager nephew and have to make their way through the jungle, trying to stay ahead of both the army and some mercenaries whose loyalties are unclear. This film is simply a poorly thought-out jumble, with unremarkable performances that are only made worse by some awful lines of dialogue, all set against a backdrop of repetitive ambushes, shootouts, and an ending that really encapsulated this confused and unoriginal story. The movie drags on, and I'm not sure where you could even begin to shorten it; so instead, I’d suggest watching a few episodes of "The A-Team" and enjoying some Malbec.
