It’s become an unexpected highlight of the year. It's a film with a small number of performers and was shot over just a single day. Aside from the initial moments, the rest felt like a constant exchange of fire—one error triggering another, ultimately leading to a showdown. The setting is a deserted warehouse containing a substantial sum of money and newly acquired weaponry, positioned so that escape is impossible; combat is the only option. A battle for survival then begins, with the victor claiming everything. The core idea behind this film is quite appealing, resulting in an engaging depiction of gang warfare despite its straightforward plot. Fans of gangster movies will likely appreciate it. However, I did find some issues with the internal consistency. For instance, everyone entered the building seemingly without checking for weapons, although it’s possible they concealed them beforehand. Also, the characters fired a remarkable number of bullets—as if in a military operation or video game. That's why my overall impression is only average; otherwise, it was surprisingly good. The acting was solid, and Brie Larson’s appearance was a pleasant surprise to see an Academy Award winner in such a small production. I was let down that her part was so brief, though. The rest of the cast performed well, each character distinct and sharing screen time fairly evenly. The reason for the conflict isn't clearly established, making it difficult to determine who are the heroes and villains. Nevertheless, their actions and how they evolve suggest where the narrative is going. The conclusion felt foreseeable, and a sequel seems probable if the filmmakers decide to pursue one—it would almost certainly be much larger in scope. _6.5/10_
