The movie unfolds as a series of connected segments, each chapter introducing different characters whose stories eventually converge. While the individual personalities aren’t explored deeply, that didn't seem to detract from the experience given the segmented structure. The enjoyment largely comes from the concept behind each segment. It definitely leans into exaggeration, but that actually adds to its appeal. I really liked seeing 924 Gilman used as a location; I was in my late teens when the film is set and spent a lot of time traveling from the Tahoe area to see concerts there, almost from the beginning. This movie resonated with me because it captures the period during which I grew up.
