The initial film holds an advantage over its 2003 reimagining, similar to what’s seen with *'The Parent Trap'*, but that doesn’t mean this version is bad. I found it enjoyable, even if it lacks some depth—at least until the satisfying conclusion. Lindsay Lohan shines as the daughter, providing a worthy counterpart to Jodie Foster’s performance. Jamie Lee Curtis delivers a commendable effort, although Barbara Harris’ depiction of the mother remains better in my view. There's entertainment value here, but for me, it doesn't quite reach the standard set by the original film.
