It's an inventive narrative centering on four people—a detective wearing a mask set against a bleak backdrop, someone looking for his child, an artist who is their own worst enemy, and a person abandoned by their partner—and the way their paths ultimately cross. What’s disappointing is that the central figures don't have much in the way of distinct character traits, which leaves many aspects of their experiences feeling flat and uninspired (I nearly gave up on it). However, I found it engaging to notice how everything tied together, and ultimately, seeing it through was worthwhile. It proved to be unexpectedly enjoyable entertainment...particularly given that this was a totally random choice.
