I honestly didn't anticipate being so moved by a sports movie, particularly one recounting actual events. James Mangold has created something truly remarkable, possibly even the finest sports film ever made. Christian Bale and Matt Damon both deliver performances deserving of recognition; Ford v Ferrari (also known as Le Mans ‘66) features characters who are exceptionally well-developed and emotionally engaging, leaving me with a feeling near tears when the credits rolled. While the racing sequences are exciting to watch, it's really the screenplay’s quality that stands out most. It’s certainly among the best films of the year. Rating: A+
