I can’t recommend this at all; I certainly won’t be watching it again, and I suggest you steer clear. It’s hard to believe so many skilled performers—actors whose work I usually enjoy—would commit their time and resources to such a disappointing project. I feel like I'm missing something because I don't understand what the intended humor is. The description mentioned a reference to the 1940s, and frankly, it shouldn’t require extra investigation to follow along: my understanding of that era mostly revolves around World War II. I admit I wasn’t familiar with Purim either, but I was open to learning about it until the film started incorporating what seemed like offensive remarks against religion just for the sake of getting attention. Beyond being a poorly made movie, it seems to be an exploration of sociopathic and narcissistic behavior within the entertainment industry—a pervasive issue on every level. While I acknowledge that this may reflect reality, I don’t need a film illustrating it. Essentially, it was a long stretch with nothing worthwhile happening.
