It sits a little lower on my list than the initial installment, though that’s not truly significant since 'For a Few Dollars More' remains highly enjoyable. Clint Eastwood is excellent once more in his central role, and Gian Maria Volonté returns as someone else – I generally dislike actors portraying different roles across multiple films, but this feels like an exception because he’s fantastic; just as he was in the 1964 movie before it. Lee Van Cleef joins the cast for the first time, and he's also superb. A narrative centered on bounty hunters had the potential to be a good time, and that expectation is certainly fulfilled here. The three actors I mentioned are very entertaining to watch. I especially thought the conclusion was among the strongest aspects of the film. I’d been looking forward to seeing 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' even before experiencing the first two films, because it’s the one I was most familiar with already, but those earlier movies have really made me want to see more!
