Given the controversy surrounding the trailer—the uproar on Reddit and in YouTube comments about a dog humping legs and the unusual concept of a "dog brothel"—I was really hoping the film would be worthwhile. It seemed like an opportunity to show those who were criticizing it for its over-the-top humor that they might be wrong. And thankfully, it is! It’s genuinely a very enjoyable movie. The humor is certainly sexual, as you might expect. But it's presented in a goofy manner; think penis, testicles, and urination jokes rather than anything explicitly pornographic. What appears in the trailer represents the most extreme moments shown throughout the film, and if you’re comfortable with sex-related gags, cartoonish anatomy, and dogs relieving themselves, you won’t have any issues. The trailer doesn't fully convey: the movie centers around a group of friends who are eccentric but genuinely care for one another. There’s also an endearing romance—or rather, two—between characters who clearly adore each other. The film depicts marginalized individuals confronting those who are rigid and judgmental, highlighting how ridiculous some human behaviors might appear to animals. Yes, there are scenes involving dogs engaging in sexual activity, but it's portrayed in a silly, cartoon style, not like the explicit content found in “Fritz the Cat.” However, if you’re okay with that type of humor—or even if you appreciate it—you’ll discover a film about an amazing group of friends who each have their own struggles to overcome, exploring themes of individuality and self-esteem. It also includes some sweet romances and is notable for featuring intersex representation voiced by an intersex performer. So, if you can tolerate the “twisted” humor, I suggest checking it out! It’s comparable to Ren & Stimpy but with more emotional depth, or perhaps a very mature version of "101 Dalmatian Street" that included (absurd) sex and violence. Every character is amusing and entertaining; I really liked it!
