I went into this film with pretty significant hopes. Having followed FNAF theories and played the games for years, I was eager to see more of the story and a deeper dive into what makes the series tick. Even though I recognize that this movie establishes its own separate storyline from the established game narrative, it felt like they attempted to cram too much into a short amount of time. The animatronics didn't grab my attention; they seemed lackluster. The fight scenes felt overly rehearsed and predictable, which made it hard to stay engaged, and the rhythm of events just didn’t quite feel balanced. Of course, everyone has an opinion, so I will mention what worked well. They really nailed the fan service moments. It was fun to hear the familiar chuckle from the Teddy plush early on, seeing CoryXKenshin in a cameo as the cab driver was great, and I appreciated the references back to the earlier games along with the connections they made. I’d probably give this movie around a 6 out of 10. It had promise, and I'm hoping that any future installments will really focus on the horror elements. Scott Cawthon, the person who created the original games, received criticism for the lack of scares in his earlier versions, which led him to significantly increase the intensity later on.
