I found myself engaged whenever characters appeared on a spacecraft in _First Man_. It's remarkable because this might be the first time I haven’t disliked scenes employing constant shaky camera work. However, generally speaking, _First Man_ just wasn’t for me; I often don’t enjoy biopics, and that’s exactly what _First Man_ is. While NASA, the Space Race, lunar landings, and astronauts are all elements within it, the film centers on Armstrong. That's clear because we only gain a true understanding of him as a person, place, or thing. _Final rating:★★½ - It had aspects that I liked, but ultimately didn’t quite succeed._
