It makes me wonder if the intention was for Rambo to be of Native American heritage, or at least have some connection to that background. Regardless, this film is quite different from the later installments. The premise centers on a community attempting to intimidate a Vietnam veteran, only to find themselves facing unexpected consequences. It felt more substantial, with richer characters and a stronger narrative compared to most of what came afterward. Plus, it functioned effectively as an action movie focused on survival.
