It’s enjoyable and I would happily watch it again, and I can certainly suggest it to others. This film feels like the closest thing I’ve encountered to “Goonies,” though it doesn't quite reach that level in terms of overall appeal or production value. I appreciate seeing more Hawaiian and Polynesian culture represented on screen, even if the movie seems to treat it primarily as a backdrop rather than fully integrating it into the story—perhaps this approach will be easier for viewers to accept. The supernatural elements are likely the biggest issue with the film, but they’re clearly intentional. They shift the tone in a way that feels almost disrespectful to the Hawaiian culture it otherwise portrays. It's comparable to having angels appear in the movie, but it comes across more like ancient Egyptian mummies do, and I wonder if we should be giving mummies more respect, honestly. This would make for an excellent choice for family viewing. If you’re looking for something similar to “Goonies,” this is worth checking out.
