It feels like a significant amount of time has passed since the initial "Finding Nemo," making it difficult to consider this installment as a true sequel; it’s more of a fresh start. The film centers around “Dory” during a school field trip, where she experiences unsettling feelings of familiarity. This triggers memories related to how she became separated from her parents. Driven by a desire to locate them, she seeks assistance from “Nemo” and his father “Marlin,” leading them on several entertaining adventures that introduce the charming octopus "Hank." The narrative possesses a surprising emotional depth. The younger characters slowly piece together memory techniques that allow them to progress toward their objective, and there’s sufficient dialogue to appeal to children, though perhaps not as much for adults. I still struggle with finding this particular fish somewhat bothersome, but overall it's an enjoyable and visually striking family comedy.
