It’s amazing that a movie costing two hundred million dollars could earn over one billion worldwide—it was the twenty-seventh film to do so, and only the fifth animated feature. After thirteen years, this sequel arrived, which felt like a long time, but 'Finding Nemo' remains one of my all-time favorite animations; I can’t imagine anyone who loves animation wouldn't feel the same way. While I was happy about another installment, I worried it might be disappointing. Now that I’ve seen it, I am truly surprised. It may not be the greatest animated film ever created, but the screenplay and other elements elevate it to one of the best in its category. Initially, when I heard the title, I laughed—seriously? Was the story going to repeat itself? I didn't think it would offer significant changes. However, it turned out to be a very different narrative, especially considering how unexpectedly emotional it became. How many animated films have genuinely made you cry? Disney and Pixar collaborated again to achieve this. The director, who also directed the first film, deserves recognition for this achievement, as does the voice cast. We know that Dory struggles with short-term memory loss. This story explores her backstory, revealing events from her childhood up until she met Marlin and Nemo—a series of forgotten experiences. She gradually recovers some of those memories and begins a search to learn more about herself. That’s when she gets lost, but the title hints that she was lost previously and is now trying to find her way back to where she belongs. For me, since 'Frozen', this film is what has resonated with me emotionally. It beautifully illustrates the importance of family and friends. Even though it's an animated movie, it tells a meaningful story from many angles. Several new characters are introduced, and they’re all quite interesting. I hope we get short films about their origins, especially Hank the octopus and how he lost one of his tentacles. The Oscars are just around the corner, and nominations will be announced soon, so it's time to consider where this film fits in. I expect a close competition between this movie, 'Zootopia', and 'Red Turtle'. Ultimately, this is an enjoyable film for everyone, and I highly recommend it. I hope there’s a third one, but like I felt before seeing this, I want it, yet I'm unsure if it could extend the franchise’s legacy further. We’ll see! _9/10_
