I was pleasantly surprised by 'Final Destination Bloodlines'. Having watched the first five movies recently—and really liking the initial film, even though the later installments didn’t quite measure up (though I did appreciate *'Final Destination 5'*)—this one stands out as the strongest sequel, without question. I was hoping for simple thrills and some inventive deaths, and it delivered on both counts completely. I found myself entertained by each demise, which is a nice feeling. They’re executed very well and show considerable ingenuity. I'm certain there are plot inconsistencies, but frankly... "we don't care". The performers were all agreeable; no one was particularly remarkable, but I genuinely enjoyed watching them on screen. Kaitlyn Santa Juana made a strong impression, although Gabrielle Rose, Richard Harmon and the others (including Teo Briones from *'Chucky'*) are also quite good. The special effects are satisfying too. I’ll say that this film seems funnier than it perhaps intended to be, which didn’t bother me at all—though I did get the sense it wasn’t aiming for as much humor; even if they were intending some laughs anyway. Maybe I'm mistaken. It all worked out fine regardless. I would place this one above the original. The difference isn’t huge, but in my view, it edges that one out slightly. Credit to everyone involved, because this release could have easily been a disaster (that sounds like a plot for another film; I expect compensation if *'Final Destination 7'* turns out to be about that, New Line Cinema).
