This espionage comedy featuring a youthful Raquel Welch, filmed on location in Spain, is fairly unremarkable. A California skydiver participating in a competition in Spain (Raquel Welch) finds herself recruited by an undercover agency to monitor a man planning to defect and possessing information about a crucial H-bomb trigger. The supporting players include Ronald Fraser, Richard Briers, Greta Chi, and Clive Revill. "Fathom," released in 1967, attempts humor through the spy genre, similar to films like “Kiss Me Monster” (1969) and "The Girl from Rio" (1969), a trend that followed the initial popularity of the first five James Bond movies between 1962 and 1967. Welch appears at her peak during this film, looking especially striking in the opening sequence wearing a red bikini.
