Fatherland presents an alternate history scenario featuring a strong ensemble and a concept that feels remarkably modern. The creation of this world is notably detailed, incorporating genuine German signs, propaganda designs, and impressive sets and visual effects that contribute significantly to the overall feeling. Considerable effort was put into portraying historical figures and illustrating conflicts within the Nazi government's various departments; this is undoubtedly where the film excels most. The narrative includes a few intriguing plot developments and characters, though the conclusion seemed somewhat disappointing, as if resources had been depleted by the final portion. The concluding scene brought to mind The Simpsons’ segment about "Poochie died on the way back to his home planet." It's still recommended viewing, however.
