I found myself drawn back into the "Fast X" storyline, something I had almost lost interest in. Jason Momoa is definitely the standout; he takes what could have been a disposable antagonist and makes him incredibly funny—a delightful mix of charisma and over-the-top theatricality. The actors still work well together, although Daniela Melchior and whoever played Portugal should have had more moments on screen. Given past installments, the action sequences are surprisingly bearable, embracing the usual nonsensical nature of the series, which will likely appeal to those who don't mind a lot of silliness. While there’s too much reliance on obviously fake sets and frantic editing, it still manages to be enjoyable enough. It’s obvious this is the beginning of what will be a three-part conclusion, so take that as you see fit. Rating: B-
