I had a good time with F&F5 (2011), however this installment has returned to the familiar formula of car chases and constant explosions. Even though Vin Diesel ("Dom"), Paul Walker (“O'Conner”), and Dwayne Johnson ("Hobbs") are all still present, it just feels like more of the same. The basic storyline involves the group going to London in search of "Letty" (Michelle Rodriguez), who was previously believed to be deceased. It turns out she’s now involved with the unpleasant "Shaw" (Luke Evans) – or is she? You're left wondering who's trustworthy. It was almost amusing to see that the Metropolitan police are just as ineffective at preventing their city streets from being used for races, which result in chaos everywhere; even some buses get damaged. There’s a bit of amusement with a tank and an airplane – it seems only an ocean liner is missing from this fast-moving action movie. Unfortunately, I didn't find Evans to be very threatening, and the conclusion simply drags on much too long. While I did enjoy seeing it in theaters, I don’t imagine I would ever feel compelled to watch it again.
