"Hau," played by Kaki Sham, is portrayed as an unassuming, introverted man living in Hong Kong who observes women from a distance without any expectation of interaction—despite having created his own dating application! Unexpectedly, "Lee" (Cecilia So) agrees to let him take her out, but with the unusual condition that it can only happen on Saturdays. This should have been a warning sign, yet they seem to get along well enough as he drives her back and forth across Hong Kong. Soon after, he finds himself attracting the attention of another woman—a bridesmaid—followed by others. At this point, I began to question whether these women were informing each other about this convenient, free transportation service. What unfolds is a pleasant, gentle comedy that elicits more smiles than laughter but still provides enough humor to get through its hundred-minute runtime as "Hau" discovers the truth and attempts to manage all five relationships without running out of gas. The film nicely showcases Hong Kong’s locations and offers a subtle commentary on the political climate. Once the characters are introduced—though it's fair to say they aren’t fully developed—the movie feels more organic as he gradually becomes overwhelmed, emotionally. It isn’t something I anticipate recalling in the future, but I did appreciate seeing how the relationships played out during my time at the cinema.
