I had a fondness for this film during my teenage years, and also enjoyed the Isaac Asimov novel that served as the basis for the movie's script—though I never encountered the initial story that inspired the screenplay. It seemed like an exciting adventure at the time. I can’t say whether or not Raquel Welch’s appearance made a strong impression on me, considering how carefully they kept her covered up in that distinctive submarine suit. However, seeing it again now, I didn't find it quite as captivating or enjoyable. There were moments where the story seemed to have some inconsistencies, and naturally, the visual effects haven’t aged well when compared to what we expect today. Nevertheless, I would still suggest giving it a look if you appreciate older science fiction movies or are looking for something to watch with kids, because it's appropriate for viewers of any age.
