It’s difficult to say how much of what's depicted in this film aligns with reality. But if the portrayal of Andy Warhol is genuine, then he seems comparable to Truman Capote. The musician who had a relationship with Edie was right on target when he described Andy as someone exploitative. He appeared envious of Edie—her standing within society, her looks. And the man who accompanied her to New York wasn’t really a friend either. It's repulsive. What a sad situation for her. Learning about her family background helped me understand that she began with disadvantages inherited from her father's side of the family. It explains why she struggled so much. I hope she finds peace.
