It’s genuinely tricky to create a biographical film centered on an actual serial killer and his spouse, dedicating significant screen time to the killer himself, without risking portraying him in a sympathetic light. When that person is central to the narrative, essentially the main character, and that individual embodies monstrous qualities, it presents a considerable challenge. I believe this movie stumbles somewhat in navigating that difficulty. While there are undeniably impactful scenes, and it’s certainly an interesting cinematic undertaking, not every decision was successful. It's hardly surprising when Ted Bundy is revealed as the perpetrator—everyone already knows that fact. After all, he’s Ted Bundy; his notoriety stems from a single, horrific act: murder.
