The action sequences in Extraction 2 are undeniably remarkable. The single, unbroken shot lasting 21 minutes stands out as a superb demonstration of how to combine stunts, camera work, editing, visual effects, and acting – Chris Hemsworth demonstrates the potential to reach leading man status within the action genre. However, it seems that the same attention wasn’t devoted to developing a more original plot or memorable characters. Ultimately, this follow-up replicates the strengths and weaknesses of its predecessor, but with even larger action set pieces. People who liked the initial film will likely find enjoyment in this one, as well as any future installments. Rating: B
