It's obvious that *Extraction 2* took notes from what didn’t work in the first film and really turned up the intensity, resulting in an excellent action movie that has me wanting to see more! Seriously! This is exactly what many older action movies were trying to achieve years ago. It feels like *Commando* paved the way for something as impressive as *Extraction 2*. The film’s action, gun battles, raw feel, and simple plot are reminiscent of a classic from the 80s, but the production values, stunt work, and camera angles are far beyond anything you'd see in that era. The prison escape scene, featuring an incredible twenty-one minute continuous shot, is astonishing and one of the most memorable action sequences I’ve ever witnessed. While the first *Extraction* was perfectly acceptable, this sequel streamlined the narrative and amplified what worked best about its predecessor: the intense action. Similar to later installments in the *John Wick* series, *Extraction 2* prioritizes being a high-quality action film above all else, rather than a dramatic story with shooting elements. There's not much of a plot to speak of, and any attempts at character development feel commonplace and uninspired. Fortunately, these moments are infrequent. The movie has the vibe of *The Expendables*, but it’s focused on a single protagonist, contains fewer jokes, and boasts even more impressive fight choreography! If you enjoy explosions, fighting, and bits of gore, then this is the film for you.
