This movie feels like a standard action film trying to pass for something more significant—that’s my initial thought about Expendables 4. I understand the concept is worn out by now, but earlier installments in this intentionally silly series at least had some spark and featured familiar faces from the action genre. However, this newest one is pretty unremarkable, with many of the actors being unfamiliar to me. Basically, it plays like a typical B-level action movie that includes just a few recognizable stars. It seems as if they weren’t putting much effort into it, and it doesn't quite live up to expectations, I guess.
