It includes familiar items from the first film, and some fresh details concerning the book, the Necronomicon. However, the excessive amount of gore felt misplaced and didn't elicit any laughs. The single amusing line came when a character asked, “Why does my face hurt?” I’m really looking forward to Evil Dead 2 recapturing the humor and exaggerated performances that made the initial sequel so enjoyable. Bruce Campbell's "Groovy" line gives me hope for what’s coming in future installments—I certainly want to see it progress toward Army of Darkness!
