If someone’s hoping for an Evil Dead movie, it really hinges on what they're familiar with. Those anticipating something like the first few installments—Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, and that initial trilogy—are likely to be let down considerably. This isn't a Sam Raimi film. It’s more akin to The Conjuring, really, similar to many horror movies released since 2014.
