This film feels like one of the most authentic adventure movies derived from actual events. I honestly didn't anticipate this movie at all. I was prepared for something along the lines of 'Vertical Limit,' anticipating a heroic narrative with impressive action sequences. Instead, it felt strikingly genuine, even more so than I expected. Often, when true stories are adapted for film, they’re padded out with excessive stunts to make them more marketable. This one stayed remarkably close to reality, resembling a documentary in its approach. It was purely a struggle between people and the power of nature; there were no human antagonists or romantic elements, nor any other side plots. The movie featured numerous well-known actors, many of whom had relatively minor roles, which certainly built up expectations. But as I mentioned earlier, going in with hopes for something spectacular will likely lead to disappointment. To truly appreciate it, you need to approach the film with an open mind; I found it to be very straightforward, and honesty can sometimes feel a little dull. The movie had considerable emotional impact. While there wasn’t any development of individual characters, the entire story centered on one specific expedition undertaken by several trekking groups that went wrong after being caught in a storm. This is among Jason Clarke's finest performances as a lead, and it's also a strong work for the director of 'Contraband.' I wish I had seen it originally in digital 3D. It’s an enjoyable film, a welcome change from typical commercial movies. 7/10
