I enjoyed Eternals in much the same fashion that I often do with superhero films: the story and conversations were engaging enough for me to finish watching, though they didn’t captivate me so thoroughly that I'd want to view it again anytime soon. Let's be realistic: unless we happen to possess exceptional intelligence or striking looks, if a Marvel movie suddenly became reality, our part would likely be as helpless bystanders, either rescued or eliminated as casualties. So what we're experiencing is essentially living through events secondhand. The only Marvel film I’d repeatedly watch when it appears on television is Ant-Man and the Wasp, because its humor and cleverness are hard to resist. While watching Eternals, I noticed a few plot inconsistencies that seemed significant enough for an immortal being to pass through. And I'm not referring to the scientific aspects; I’m willing to overlook those in science fiction and related genres so they can advance the narrative. They made an effort to explain why the Eternals didn’t intervene during Thanos’s actions, but given their background, it did strike me as odd that each individual possessed only a single power instead of every possible ability. I won't analyze how this installment contributes to the larger Marvel storyline, because I wouldn't describe myself as a dedicated Marvel fan—after all, I was reading DC comics when I was younger! To put it simply, Eternals didn’t offend my intelligence as an audience member; instead, as I mentioned earlier, it kept me interested from beginning to end.
