This is a fun film, though perhaps a bit too revisionist and fantastical. After a second viewing, I was utterly dazzled by Chloé Zhao's visual magic and the entire cast and crew. It’s best experienced on a big screen. Druig reflects on watching humans destroy each other despite having the power to stop it, questioning if their mission is a mistake and whether they are truly helping humanity build a better world, pointing out that they are essentially pawns blinded by loyalty. Highlights include an enchanting soundtrack blending soft rock, celestial choirs, soprano soloists, and even Pink Floyd-esque guitar synth vocals. The music director, Ramin Djawadi, seems to have drawn inspiration from Tom Holkenborg’s work on *Godzilla vs. Kong*. Visually, the film is mesmerizing, meeting the high standards set by all previous MCU installments, starting with *Iron Man*. The art direction, fight choreography, stuntwork, digital effects, and practical special effects are all exceptional. The cinematography is lavish and gorgeous, as expected from veteran lensman Ben Davis, who clearly collaborated closely with director Chloé Zhao. She’s rapidly becoming a major force in Hollywood; her hiring was a gamble that paid off when *Nomadland* won Best Picture and she received the Best Director Oscar, along with four other nominations and an additional win. If you appreciated the expansive shots of *Nomadland*, you'll likely find Eternals equally gratifying, offering both beautiful vistas and stunning space sequences. However, the film is genuinely difficult to fully unpack due to revisions of Earth’s history and the cosmos, as well as a significant plot hole regarding the emergence of Tiamut in the finale. The Deviants also appear too obviously artificial during the first half of the film, slightly disrupting the suspension of disbelief. Fortunately, the CGI throughout is stunning. *Eternals* is easily Marvel’s most thought-provoking movie, though *Infinity War* and *Endgame* are close behind. It boasts intensely human moments and philosophical depth, setting it apart from typical blockbuster entertainment. The principal cast delivers wonderful performances, bringing Jack Kirby's characters to life; Gemma Chan’s portrayal of Sersi stands out for the humanity and empathy she brings to her leadership role. I give *Eternals* a solid 8.75 out of 10.
