I must say, I wasn’t really keen on these older Disney movies when they first came out; they always seemed overly wholesome. But this one is different because it brings together Ray Milland and Donald Pleasence, two of the finest actors ever cast as villains, in a pleasant science fiction story. Kim Richards and Ike Eisenmann portray young children possessing unusual abilities who are being hunted by an unpleasant millionaire and his helpers, intent on exploiting their powers. They find refuge with Eddie Albert, who offers them a ride in his camper van, and attempt to remain just ahead of those pursuing them as they journey toward what they believe is their home on "Witch Mountain." It's a mild family film featuring enjoyable performances from the three adult actors and some straightforward, but successful, visual effects that provide an extended opportunity for reflection.
