Escape Room (2019) begins with a captivating idea that immediately grabs your attention. The film's strength lies in its inventive and striking room designs; each puzzle builds the feeling of anxiety and anticipation. It moves along quickly and remains engaging from start to finish, which makes it an appealing choice for people who like thrillers and problem-solving scenarios. Nevertheless, I didn’t feel a strong connection with the characters, and that lessened the effect of what was at risk. I wanted them to make it out alive, but I doubt I'll recall much about them after seeing the final scene. The conclusion, while setting up future movies, felt unfinished; this is something that happens frequently in series and can be frustrating. Occasionally, you just desire a complete story that provides resolution without hinting at what’s to come next. Still, it’s an enjoyable film for what it is, particularly if you aren't looking for profound narrative depth.
