The film’s most striking aspect is undoubtedly its remarkably creative visuals as we observe a group of self-important individuals and troublemakers who become entangled in a dangerous, large-scale version of an "Adventure Game." They were tempted by the possibility of winning just $10,000, so it's not unexpected that the participants aren’t exactly top tier, since they have to use their combined intelligence against a truly sadistic game designer. The central idea behind the competition is that success is possible if they can think fast and/or perform unusual actions like playing pool while standing on their hands. It could function adequately as a video game, but presented as a movie it’s essentially a lackluster assembly of performers reciting increasingly exaggerated lines within a setting which I appreciated from the instant I was introduced to "Ben" (Logan Miller), "Zoey" (Taylor Russell) and the rest of a group who consistently display excessive confidence. While the film is visually appealing and moves at a reasonable speed with an appropriate level of suspense, it seemed to me that any survivor would be superfluous, meaning anything less than that outcome would simply lead to disappointment or feel like a push for a sequel.
