It felt inevitable that someone would eventually create an Escape Room horror film. The basic idea—a group of friends trapped together in a room facing immediate peril and a countdown to their demise—works reasonably well. However, the elements surrounding this central scenario, like the plot’s setup, the object driving the story forward, and the outside monitoring, are quite disappointing.
