This was enjoyable. It’s true that it lacked a lot of action or dramatic moments, but that wasn't something I needed from it. Flashy visuals or fast-paced sequences weren’t necessary for me to appreciate it. Essentially, this is the tale of a man struggling with sadness while on holiday, confronting a bit of a midlife situation and attempting to keep his family happy before sharing some difficult information. The film lets you observe his thoughts and fantasies, and as with most independent productions, it depends heavily on clever writing because that’s primarily what carries it. There are other films I've found more impressive, but *Escape from Tomorrow* is diverting given its nature and the limited means used to create it. It’s unfair to compare it to movies like *Goodfellas*, which had a substantial budget and well-known actors to connect with viewers. Watching this requires commitment, and it delivers if you're willing to give independent films that kind of attention.
