This cyber-crime story was generally pleasing – the leads have a noticeable connection that helps overlook the occasionally lightweight writing and unbelievable storyline. Catherine Zeta-Jones appears to be an insurance agent tasked with assisting in the capture of thief "Mac" (Sean Connery) after a valuable Rembrandt is stolen from a supposedly secure office building. It becomes clear she has her own agenda, and soon the hunter and the hunted develop an elaborate scheme to carry out the ultimate computer intrusion without being detected. The film shines brightest when detailing the planning for the robbery, but it declines somewhat during a final twenty minutes that feel awkwardly put together and include a romantic subplot I considered rather corny. Ving Rhames has a stiff appearance as a deceptive FBI agent, though thankfully his role is limited; Maury Chaykin delivers a strong performance as the unpleasant, sexually ambiguous intermediary "Conrad Greene." It's worth seeing.
