The performances from Aubrey Plaza and Theo Rossi are remarkable in "Emily the Criminal," however, the predictable storyline of this crime-thriller prevents it from being truly memorable. Plaza demonstrates her considerable skill yet again; surprisingly, the actor delivers an even more compelling performance in a realistic role that avoids many common tropes associated with similar characters. The final scene might lead viewers to feel slightly better about the film than it probably deserves, but it’s still diverting and engaging enough... suitable for watching at home. Rating: C
