The performance from Even The Footballer was perfectly acceptable. Concerns about historical detail and architectural precision aside—the buildings appear to be from around 1100 BC—I can’t quite award it a perfect score due to the numerous historical errors. Were this a Russian production, they'd likely denounce it as false information and propaganda. Nevertheless, considered purely as entertainment, it succeeds; the acting is superb across the board, making it impossible to pick out any standout performances, whether from Ecclestone or Kate Blanchett. Like many films made prior to 2000, a large ensemble cast felt like a sure bet for quality.
