Elevation shares some surface-level qualities with the video game Horizon Zero Dawn. The central concept—artificial beings behaving like animals and preying on humans—is present in both the game and the movie. However, beyond that, their connections are minimal. Fundamentally, this is a story about an alien invasion carried out indirectly, set against an apocalyptic backdrop. The film moves along at a reasonable speed, but it doesn't stand out from similar movies. There’s not much that feels particularly original, captivating, or fresh. The performances are believable; there’s a cast of familiar actors, although the characters themselves feel somewhat commonplace and predictable, without being truly bad. It’s important to acknowledge the special effects, which are exceptionally well-executed. Overall, it's an easily accessible but ultimately unremarkable science fiction adventure about the end of the world. It might be worth seeing if you have a fondness for this genre, as I do.
