There was promise in the initial idea, but what’s delivered feels more like a brief television program stretched out to feature-length. The performers aren't provided with much substance, so despite their skill and best attempts, many of the characters fall into predictable stereotypes. What prevents it from being entirely unwatchable is the exploration of vampire dynamics; particularly, the contemporary take on Renfield works well. However, I’m puzzled by the dilapidated military buildings that are revealed to be a farm. A low-lying structure with hidden passages and dungeons doesn't seem plausible; if there was some underlying narrative or cultural significance to this element, it wasn't conveyed. The visuals have received award recognition, but I honestly didn't see what they were celebrating. The quality is comparable to, or even better than, that of many YouTube content producers. Attempting to disguise the low-budget visual effects with a constant brownish-grey color scheme rarely succeeds.
