r96sk on Edward Scissorhands

I found this to be quite entertaining. It’s interesting how our imaginations can lead us astray. I was familiar with the name *‘Edward Scissorhands’*, but my knowledge of it was limited, and I anticipated something considerably darker—likely influenced by seeing the cover art occasionally. The film turns out to be much lighter in tone than I thought, which worked well. I did find myself hoping for a more somber or inventive direction at times, instead of depending on the unusual concept of scissors for hands; however, they do explore some deeper themes to a degree. Despite that, I got a lot of enjoyment watching the story play out—it’s odd and lovely. Johnny Depp delivers a strong performance, largely through his expressions and posture. It was nice to see Winona Ryder as well, someone whose more recent work in *'Stranger Things'* I've appreciated. Alan Arkin and Anthony Michael Hall are also featured. The film has the distinctive visual style that’s become characteristic of Tim Burton’s work. You can tell Bo Welch had a hand in it; the neighborhood resembles what he created for 2003's *‘The Cat in the Hat’*, which I genuinely liked. It is certainly worth seeing.
