Eddie Izzard’s comedic spark seemed brighter before his later popularity. This performance stands out as a prime example of Eddie Izzard's talent for taking an idea and expanding it into unexpected and entertaining places. There was a particular quality to his approach here that, in my view, he hasn’t consistently achieved since. He has a knack for connecting with audiences through relatable experiences—those silly phrases we all remember, school outings, waiting in line at a gas station late at night, or the chaos of grocery shopping. And like many comedians, Izzard is skilled at physical comedy, using mime to vividly portray absurd narratives and elicit laughter. It's a widely beloved stand-up show, considered among the strongest available on video, as it holds up well even with repeated viewings; however, the pleasure is lessened by the realization that his later work didn’t quite maintain the same level of quality. Definite Article truly embodies Izzard at his best. 9/10 "so yeah"
