I’ve seen this movie countless times! The trailer does an excellent job of explaining the premise: "The story of a boy who lost the child within himself and the man that helps him find it." It’s my top pick from John Hughes' work, and as a devoted fan of his, I appreciate it immensely. Ethan Randall/Embry was really good in his role as Doyle; he seemed ideally suited for the part. The shift from Doyle’s initially angry and abrasive demeanor to the more typical 12-year-old boy we see later feels completely believable, and his rapport with Ed O'Neill is wonderful. Ed O'Neill, who I think is one of America’s most overlooked actors, often gets dismissed because of his Al Bundy character. I’m a big fan; I grew up watching *Married… with Children*, and I’ve seen much of his other work, including *Modern Family* and the brief revival of "Dragnet." He's got charisma, and he’s far more talented than many actors currently appearing in films. Dutch was, in my opinion, his finest performance to date. This film is a classic for me, with an important underlying theme. I would rate it an 8 out of 10.
