It’s quite good. Dunkirk, as anticipated considering who directed it, is exceptionally well-crafted. What stood out to me most were the visuals, the sound design, and the musical score. It tells a story that's easy to get into about something that happened during World War II. I wouldn’t necessarily point to one actor as being particularly remarkable; I don't intend that as criticism, it just feels more like a film centered on a collective of people rather than individual characters – which seems likely to have been the goal. There are still solid performances from actors such as Tom Glynn-Carney and Jack Lowden. It also includes well-known performers, among them Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, and Mark Rylance. The music and how the different parts of the film are put together really make it special, and the rhythm is almost perfect—they could have easily stretched this out to 2 hours and 15 minutes or longer, like many war movies do, but keeping the running time at about 1 hour and 47 minutes was a smart decision. I still think it had potential to be even better, but I did find it entertaining.
