My close friend considered _Dunkirk_ the top film of 2017, and I struggle to grasp why he felt so strongly about it. It's hard for me to get excited about this movie. I believe I might have sensed some suspense at the beginning, and a few scenes were visually striking... or maybe not? To be honest, I don’t recall. _Dunkirk_ simply passed by without making much of an impression, and then disappeared as quickly as the waves recede. _Final rating:★★ - It had elements that resonated with me, but ultimately it didn't quite work._
